Severne attended the launch of the O2 Local Government Futures Forum. This is one of the most exciting & innovative initiatives to hit the world of local government ICT. But that wasn’t all; around the conference chamber 17 market stalls were displaying individual elements of the expertise O2 offers local government. My favourite was an initiative badged ‘O2 Business’ which will to help councils build their relationships with local businesses.
A total of £250,000 is available in three funding packages of £125,000, £75,000 and £50,000 for the best three applications, as a combination of O2’s consultancy time, services and technology.
Local Government “Key focus area”
It was great to hear Billy D’Arcy O2 General Manager Enterprise and Ben Dowd O2 Business Director tell representatives from 50 or so local authorities that Local Government is a key focus area for O2.
I haven‘t heard many other companies saying this recently. Yes some have but they have not followed up with such verve. O2 introduced a cornucopia of expertise and enthusiasm which local authorities can deploy to help their citizens.
£250,000 available for three good projects
